Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has heaped praise on his team’s formidable attacking trio of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal. Following their 3-0 victory over Alavés in LaLiga, Flick highlighted the “unbelievable” chemistry and dynamic between the three players.
“Of course we are working on [the chemistry between them],” Flick said in a news conference when asked how much work had gone in to helping the trio gel. “Every training and when you have meetings, you show them from the tactical side and also positions are very important. They are doing great and the dynamic from these players is unbelievable and helps us a lot.”
Lewandowski, who netted a hat-trick in the match, has been in exceptional form this season. The Polish striker has been involved in more goals than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues, scoring 10 goals and providing two assists. Raphinha and Yamal have also made significant contributions, with both players featuring among the top goal scorers and assist providers in the league.
Hansi Flick expressed his admiration for Lewandowski’s ability and the support he receives from his teammates. “Everyone supports Lewy and he knows what to do in the box,” he said. “He’s been amazing over such a [long] period, to score so many goals, it’s very good. I am very happy with him. You can see he’s 100% fit and the other teammates are supporting him really good.”
The 59-year-old tactician also praised Raphinha for his dynamism and potential for further improvement. “His dynamic is really good and I think that he can still get even better,” Flick said of the Brazil international. “When he’s on his top, top level, then he could score a goal today. But I am very happy for him, it’s unbelievable what he’s doing.”
Barcelona’s victory over Alavés extended their winning streak in LaLiga to eight out of nine matches, solidifying their position at the top of the table with 24 points. Their impressive form has drawn comparisons to Flick’s previous team, Bayern Munich. However, the manager was quick to dismiss such comparisons, emphasizing the unique qualities of his current squad.
“I don’t like to compare this because it is a different team [and] situation,”Hansi Flick said “This team is completely different. It’s very nice to work with them. At the moment, it feels pretty good but I know also that in football things can change very quickly.”
As Barcelona prepare for a crucial run of matches after the international break, including clashes against Sevilla, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid, their attacking prowess will be put to the test. With Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Yamal leading the charge, Barcelona are well-positioned to maintain their dominance in LaLiga and compete for European glory.
