Ghana defender Baba Rahman played a pivotal role in PAOK’s 2-2 draw against Malmo in the UEFA Champions League qualifying round on Tuesday.
Rahman’s crucial goal in the 75th minute ensured PAOK left Sweden with a valuable draw, setting them up confidently for the return leg in Greece.
Malmo initially took the lead twice, with goals from Pontus Jansson and Sebastian Nanasi, but PAOK fought back each time. Rahman’s equalizer kept the tie open and showcased his importance to the team.

Rahman’s performance was particularly impressive, building on a stellar pre-season where he scored a couple of goals. This goal, his first of the season, suggests he may surpass last season’s tally of six goals across all competitions, helping PAOK clinch the Greek title.
Having found stability in Greece after his stint with Chelsea and Queens Park Rangers, Rahman is in top form. With two years remaining on his current deal, PAOK may offer him a new contract, or he could attract interest from clubs in more competitive leagues. As the season progresses, Rahman is expected to continue his strong performance, further elevating his profile in European football.
