Abdul Aziz Issah: New Barcelona boy compares playstyle to Lamine Yamal

Ghanaian youngster Abdul Aziz Issah has likened his playing style to Barcelona’s rising star, Lamine Yamal, following his recent transfer to the Spanish giants.

Issah, who signed a one-season deal with an option to buy, made the bold comparison during his unveiling alongside fellow Ghanaian player, David Oduro.

The 18-year-old secured the move to Barcelona after an impressive season with Dreams FC, where he shone in the CAF Confederation Cup. Reflecting on his transfer, Issah expressed his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to join a club he has supported since childhood.

“It’s a great feeling and a massive joy for me. I have been supporting this club for a very long time since childhood, and me being here, me being part of this club, I am very grateful,” Issah shared during the unveiling. “I can’t wait to get started.”

Issah, confident in his abilities, compared himself to Barcelona’s Yamal, highlighting their similarities as left-footed attackers. “I describe myself as a Lamine Yamal type of player. Left-footed, who likes shooting, attacking. Yes, that’s how Aziz is,” he said.

As he joins Barcelona B, Issah aims to impress and eventually catch the attention of first-team manager Hansi Flick, signaling his ambition to make a significant impact at the club.
