West Ham United have completed the signing of right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United on a seven-year contract.
The transfer, valued at approximately £15 million, sees the 26-year-old return to London, where he was born and raised.
Wan-Bissaka, who made 190 appearances for Manchester United since joining from Crystal Palace in 2019, will bolster West Ham’s defense for the foreseeable future.
The move marks the eighth summer signing for the Hammers, following their busy transfer window.
The defender expressed his enthusiasm about the move, stating, “It was a no-brainer for me to join West Ham – I’m excited and happy to be here. It’s an amazing feeling to be back in London, and I’m excited for what’s coming. I was born here, so I know the ins and outs of London, which plays a big part in my life.”
Wan-Bissaka, known for his exceptional one-on-one defensive skills, also highlighted the club’s camaraderie as a significant factor in his decision. “I see a team that is in it together, that will push each other to win, and a group that has got each other’s backs through thick and thin,” he added.

West Ham’s technical director, Tim Steidten, praised Wan-Bissaka’s abilities, saying, “He’s an incredibly talented defender who we rate very highly—superb in one-on-one situations. He’s versatile too, which is clearly another positive. He’s played over 170 Premier League games during his career—he knows the division inside-out.”
Aaron Wan-Bissaka to be replaced by Noussair Mazraoui
Wan-Bissaka’s departure from Manchester United comes as the club prepares to replace him with Noussair Mazraoui. United have agreed a £17.2 million deal with Bayern Munich for the Morocco international.
During his time at Old Trafford, Aaron Wan-Bissaka won the FA Cup and the EFL Cup and was a key figure in the squad. His move to West Ham represents a new chapter in his career as the Hammers prepare for the new Premier League season.
