Ghanaian prodigy, Abdul Aziz Issah, has made history by being shortlisted for the prestigious CAF Awards.
The 18-year-old midfielder has garnered widespread recognition for his exceptional performances both domestically and internationally.
Issah’s standout contributions to Dreams FC during the 2023/2024 season played a pivotal role in the club’s historic run to the CAF Confederation Cup semifinals. His impressive goal-scoring record of four goals and two assists in ten games showcased his immense talent and ability to impact matches at the highest level.
Additionally, Issah’s domestic form was equally impressive, as he netted seven goals and provided one assist in the Ghana Premier League last season. Beyond his club achievements, Issah’s involvement with the Black Satellites squad that clinched gold at the 2023 African Games further cemented his reputation as a rising star in African football.
In recognition of his outstanding talent, Issah secured a loan move to Barcelona B in the summer, providing him with an invaluable opportunity to develop his skills in one of the world’s most prestigious football academies.
Issah’s nomination for the CAF Awards places him alongside a talented group of African players, including Carlos Baleba (Cameroon/Brighton & Hove Albion), Karim Konate (Cote d’Ivoire / Salzburg), Oumar Diakite (Cote d’Ivoire / Reims), Yankuba Minteh (Gambia / Brighton & Hove Albion), Bilal El Khannouss (Morocco / Leicester City), Eliesse Ben Seghir (Morocco / AS Monaco), El Hadji Malick Diouf (Senegal / Slavia Prague), Lamine Camara (Senegal / AS Monaco), and Amanallah Memmiche (Tunisia / Esperance Sportive de Tunis).
The CAF Awards 2024, scheduled to take place in Marrakech, Morocco, on December 16, 2024, will be a significant event for Issah and the Ghanaian football community. His nomination highlights the growing depth and quality of football on the continent.
