Partey, along with Joseph Paintsil, Ibrahim Osman, and Kingsley Schindler, is unavailable due to injury, despite being named in the initial squad. In Partey’s absence, Mohammed Kudus has been handed the captain’s armband for the game.

Despite these notable absentees, Addo remains confident in the quality of his available players. During a pre-match press conference on Wednesday, he emphasised that his focus is on the squad in camp rather than those who are missing.

“This is my job. We have different solutions on how we could play, and as a staff, we discussed it. I chose one in the end, and I’m very, very sure it will work,” Addo said. “We are not thinking too much about the players not here; it’s more about the players who are here, their qualities, and how we can inspire them to perform.”

Ghana aims for redemption

Ghana, currently sitting third in Group F with just one point from two games, will be aiming for their first victory in the qualifiers before traveling to Libya for the return leg at the Martyrs of February Stadium.

With Sudan under the guidance of former Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah, the match promises to be a high-stakes encounter as both teams fight for AFCON 2025 qualification.
