The first group of Sudan’s national football team has arrived in Ghana ahead of their crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying clash against the Black Stars.
Led by head coach Kwesi Appiah, a former Ghana national team coach, the technical team landed in Accra on Sunday night.
The rest of the squad, traveling from Saudi Arabia, is expected to arrive later today under the guidance of national team manager Abubakar Al-Mahy.
Meanwhile, Ghana’s Black Stars have also opened camp with few players reporting pending the arrival of many more ahead of the crucial games.

Sudan’s qualifying campaign has been a mixed bag so far, starting with a victory over Niger before falling to a 2-1 defeat against Angola.
The team currently sits second in the group with three points, and Kwesi Appiah is determined to push for an upset win against Ghana to improve Sudan’s chances of booking a spot at AFCON 2025.
Sudan will hold their final training session on Wednesday evening at the Accra Sports Stadium ahead of the first-leg clash, which kicks off at 16:00 GMT on Thursday at the same venue. The second leg will take place on October 14 at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Libya.
