Former Ghana international Mohammed Polo remains optimistic about the Black Stars’ chances of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), despite their shaky start in the Group F qualifiers.
The four-time African champions have faced difficulties in securing a win, losing to Angola and drawing with Niger last month. However, Polo believes that while the road to qualification may not be smooth, the Black Stars will ultimately make it to AFCON.

The Black Stars are set to face Sudan on October 11, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium, following CAF’s approval for the venue. This match is seen as crucial for Ghana to regain momentum in the qualifiers before traveling to Libya for the return leg against Sudan on October 14.
With head coach Otto Addo yet to announce his squad for the upcoming fixtures, the team will be aiming to secure one of the top two spots in Group F to ensure their place in the AFCON tournament, scheduled for December 2025 in Morocco.
