Real Madrid: Kylian Mbappe stars again in Espanyol win

Kylian Mbappe continued his remarkable form by scoring his fourth goal in three La Liga matches as Real Madrid came from behind to secure a commanding 4-1 win over Espanyol.

Despite Real’s dominance, they trailed early in the second half when Thibaut Courtois accidentally turned Jofre Carreras’ cross into his own net.

However, Espanyol’s lead was short-lived, as four minutes later, Jude Bellingham’s pass slipped under goalkeeper Joan Garcia, setting up Dani Carvajal to tap in the equaliser.

Real Madrid completed the comeback with 15 minutes left when Rodrygo met a cross from Vinicius Junior to score, followed by Vinicius himself adding a third just minutes later. Kylian Mbappe capped off the evening with a penalty in the closing stages after Carlos Romero fouled Endrick in the box.

Real Madrid dominated with 31 attempts on goal compared to Espanyol’s single shot, showing their resilience despite falling behind. Mbappe, who has now scored six goals in his first eight games since joining from Paris Saint-Germain, also assisted Vinicius with a perfectly weighted pass before sealing the win from the spot.
