Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca expressed satisfaction with his team’s 3-0 victory over West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday.
Speaking after the match, Maresca acknowledged that there were areas where his team could improve, particularly in their attacking and defensive play. “I think we are improving in many things, even if today we could attack better, we could defend better,” he said.
He also emphasized the need for better game management, stating, “Especially we could manage the game much, much better.”
Chelsea’s victory was secured by goals from Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer. Jackson opened the scoring in the fourth minute and added his second goal of the afternoon in the 18th minute. Palmer extended Chelsea’s lead in the 47th minute, ensuring a comfortable victory for the Blues.
With this win, Enzo Maresca became the first Chelsea manager since Pep Guardiola in 2016 to win his first three away games in the Premier League. The victory lifted Chelsea to fifth place in the league table with 10 points from 5 games.
As Chelsea continue their season, Maresca will be looking to build on the team’s progress and address the areas where he believes they can improve. The Blues will now shift their focus to the EFL Cup, where they face Barrow in the third round on September 24.
