Seth Gyimah, popularly known as Freezy Macbones, has become a highly sought-after boxer in Ghana. Promoters are eager to feature him on their fight cards, and other boxers in his weight class are challenging him to bouts.
Following an unsuccessful bid for the 2024 Paris Olympics with the Black Bombers, Gyimah has had a stellar professional career, winning all four of his matches. He is actively seeking more challenges and opportunities to showcase his skills.
Last Saturday, at the Shiatse and Legacy Fight Promotions event “Golden Hands,” Gyimah swiftly defeated David Okine in the first round. Immediately after the bout, Jonathan Tetteh alias ‘Worldwide’ who was his colleague in the Bombers team and now also a pro with three wins challenged him alongside Jonathan Mbanugu who has lost twice in 12 fights.
Gyimah readily accepted, stating that his mother taught him that attention is a sign of doing something right. The 35-year-old urged the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) to present him with a contract.
Meanwhile popular boxing promotion outfit, Box Office Promotions, is gearing up to deliver a night of intense boxing action at the Accra Sports Stadium in November, featuring some of the most anticipated duels in the nation.
The main event will feature a highly anticipated clash between Freezy Macbones and Ernest Akushey, known as Baubali. This match is expected to draw significant attention due to the fighters’ fierce competitiveness and powerful punches.
The promotion will also showcase a rematch between Derrick Quaye and Michael Ansah, who previously fought in a brutal super lightweight contest won by Quaye
Shiatse and Legacy Fight Promotions has also agreed to organize a fight between Gyimah and Tetteh.
Hon Nii Okai Laryea expressed the promoters’ willingness to cater to the fans’ desires, stating, “If that is what fight fans want, we will give it to them.”
