Jordan Ayew on target as Leicester City cruise to 4-0 victory over Tranmere Rovers in EFL Cup

Leicester City produced a dominant performance to thrash Tranmere Rovers 4-0 in the EFL Cup on Tuesday evening, with Ghana striker Jordan Ayew stealing the show with a stunning goal and an assist.

Ayew’s moment of brilliance came in the 38th minute when he unleashed a powerful right-footed shot from outside the box that found the top right corner, setting the tone for the Foxes’ convincing win.

The Ghanaian duo of Ayew and Fatawu Issahaku featured in the match, with Ayew starting as the main striker and Issahaku coming on in the 82nd minute. Ayew’s goal was his first of the season, and he will be looking to build on this performance in upcoming games.

Leicester City’s goals also came from Stephy Mavididi, who converted a penalty in the 51st minute, Wilfred Ndidi in the 71st minute, assisted by Ayew, and Harry Winks in the 90th minute following a corner.

The Foxes will now shift focus from the EFL Cup to their upcoming Premier League game against Aston Villa on August 30th, aiming to carry forward the momentum from their impressive cup performance.

Manager Steve Cooper will be pleased with the team’s performance, which showcased their attacking prowess and defensive solidity. The win also provides a confidence boost for the team as they look to make a strong start to the season.
