Antoine Semenyo scores late equaliser in Bournemouth opener against Nottingham Forest

Ghana striker Antoine Semenyo rescued a point for Bournemouth with a late equaliser in their 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday.

The match at the City Ground saw Nottingham Forest take the lead in the 23rd minute through Chris Wood, who capitalised on their controlled possession to put his team ahead.

Forest dominated much of the game, keeping Bournemouth at bay until the closing stages.

However, Bournemouth’s persistence paid off in the 86th minute when Semenyo pounced on a deflected ball inside the box and fired it past Nottingham Forest’s goalkeeper, Matz Sels, from close range. The goal marked a crucial moment in the match, ensuring that the points were shared.

The game also featured English-born Ghanaian winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, who played for Nottingham Forest, while Antoine Semenyo completed the full 90 minutes for Bournemouth.

Despite Bournemouth registering more shots on goal, Forest’s control in possession led to Chris Wood’s opener. However, Semenyo’s late strike secured a valuable point for the Cherries.

Bournemouth will next face Newcastle United at the Vitality Stadium on August 25th. With Dominic Solanke having moved to Tottenham Hotspur, Semenyo could play a key role in Bournemouth’s attack as they look to build on this result.
